This document provides detailed information on the use of cookies and similar technologies, on how they are used by on this site and on how to manage them.
Definitions
Cookies are short text fragments (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store information on the client (the browser) to be reused during the same visit to the website (session cookies) or even days later (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored based on user preferences, by the single browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).
Similar technologies, such as web beacons, transparent GIFs and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to collect information on user behaviour and on the use of services.
Cookies and all similar technologies mentioned in this document will be referred to by simply using the term cookie.
Types of cookies
Different categories of cookies can be distinguished based on their characteristics and use:
- Strictly necessary cookies. These cookies are crucial for proper website operation and are used to manage the login and access to the reserved functions of the website. The duration of cookies is strictly limited to the work session (once the browser is closed they are deleted).
- Analysis and performance cookies. These cookies are used to collect and analyse traffic and use of the website anonymously. Even without identifying the user, these cookies allow, for example, detecting whether the same user returns to connect at different times. They also enable monitoring the system and improving its performance and usability. These cookies can be disabled without any loss of functionality.
- Profiling cookies. These are persistent cookies used to identify (anonymously or not) user preferences and improve their browsing experience.
This website does not use cookies of this type.
Third party cookies
When visiting a website you can receive cookies from the visited website (owners) and from websites managed by other organisations (third parties). A notable example is represented by the presence of social plugins for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. These are parts of the visited page generated directly by the aforementioned websites and integrated into the hosting website page. The most common use of social plugins consists in sharing content on social networks.
The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies from and to all websites managed by third parties. Management of information collected by third parties is governed by the relevant information which should be referred to. To ensure greater transparency and convenience, the web addresses of the various information notices and cookie management methods are shown below.

Google Analytics / Shinystats
This website also includes certain components transmitted by Google Analytics or Shinystats, web traffic analysis services provided by external providers. In this case these are also third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve host website performance (performance cookies).
Google Analytics and Shinystats use “cookies” to anonymously collect and analyse information on the behaviour of website users (including the user’s IP address). This information is collected by the respective services, which process it in order to draw up reports on website activities. This website does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) the Google analysis tool to monitor or collect personal identification information. Google will not associate an IP address with any other data it possesses or attempt to link an IP address with the identity of a user. Google can also communicate this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process said information on Google's behalf.

The user can selectively disable the action of Google Analytics by installing the opt-out component provided by Google on their browser. To disable the Google Analytics action, go to the following link:

Duration of cookies
Some cookies (session cookies) only remain active until the browser is closed or the logout command is executed. Some cookies remain when the browser is closed and are also available in later visits by the user.
These cookies are called persistent and their duration is set by the server upon their creation. In some cases a deadline is set, in other cases the duration is unlimited.
This website does not use persistent cookies, however, when browsing its pages, you may interact with websites managed by third parties that may create or modify permanent and profiling cookies.
Cookie settings
The user may decide whether or not to accept cookies using their browser settings.
Warning: fully or partially disabling technical cookies may compromise the use of the website features reserved for registered users. On the other hand, usability of public content is also possible by completely disabling cookies.
Disabling third party cookies does not affect navigability in any way.
The setting can be defined specifically for different websites and web applications. Furthermore, the best browsers allow you to define different settings for proprietary and for third party cookies.
